What actually differs
Neither the eero 6+ nor the Deco X55 exposes a browser login page — both are managed exclusively through a mobile app, and neither has an admin/admin default because there's no admin console to default. eero 6+ needs an eero (Amazon) account; the Deco X55 needs a TP-Link ID, per TP-Link's own Deco setup guide.
Both reset the same way mechanically — hold the reset button until the LED shows factory state, then open the app and rebuild the network. The account you're locked into for that recovery is the real difference: buying into one ecosystem means every future reset, firmware update and remote troubleshoot goes through that vendor's account, not a router IP you can bookmark.
eero 6+ is managed only in the eero app. To hard reset: with the eero powered on, hold the reset button on the back until the LED flashes red (~15 seconds), then release; when it blinks blue it is ready to set up. Re-add it in the app and set your Wi-Fi credentials.
Press the recessed Reset button underneath the unit with a pin and hold roughly one second. Watch the LED: flashing yellow means it is clearing, solid yellow means it is rebooting, and a pulsing blue glow means factory state has been reached. Launch the Deco app, sign in with your TP-Link ID, and build the network again.
