D-Link's official support states the default for its ADSL modem/router (DSL series) is admin / admin at 192.168.1.1 — many older Airtel/BSNL/MTNL DSL units are these. D-Link also notes that units purchased after 2017 are secure by default with a unique password printed on the bottom of the unit, so check the label on newer hardware.

Factory reset

Connect to the modem/router by LAN or Wi-Fi, open http://192.168.1.1 in a browser, and sign in with username admin and password admin (D-Link's documented default for its DSL series). If the login is rejected, the password was likely changed — keep the username admin and enter your own password. To factory reset, hold the recessed RESET button for about 10 seconds until the unit reboots, then log back in with admin / admin and reconfigure.
