Fortinet FortiGate 61F default password & login IP

The Fortinet FortiGate 61F has no default password — you set one the first time you configure it at its admin page.

You create this password the first time you set up the router. If you never changed it, factory-reset and set a new one.

A tier up from the already-seeded 60F, aimed at branch offices needing PoE+ switch ports alongside SD-WAN. Same FortiOS-line no-default-password behavior as the 40F/60F, documented at the product-line level rather than a 61F-specific page (login host/IP left blank rather than guessed). FortiOS documentation: "By default, your FortiGate has an administrator account set up with the username admin and no password... Adding a password to the admin administrator is mandatory."

Factory reset

CLI: execute factoryreset, or hold the unit's recessed hardware reset button (roughly 20 seconds, model-dependent) — after a factory reset the admin account reverts to no password and FortiOS forces a new one to be set on next login.
