NETGEAR documents a static default of admin / password (case-sensitive) for its CM-series cable modems. This applies to CM400/500/600/700/1000/1100/1200 and similar — but NOT the CM2000, which ships with a unique label password instead.
Factory reset
The CM1000 is a cable modem only and broadcasts no Wi-Fi. Open a browser to http://192.168.100.1 and log in with username 'admin' and password 'password' (both case-sensitive). To factory reset, press and hold the Restore Factory Settings button with a paperclip for about 7 seconds until the power LED blinks, then log in again with admin/password.
