This model prompts you to create an admin password during initial setup — the old admin/password default does not apply. If you never changed it, a factory reset lets you set a new one.

Factory reset

The Nighthawk AX8 setup wizard requires you to create your own admin password at first login, so recover access by factory resetting rather than hunting a default. Power the unit on, hold the recessed Reset button on the rear panel for about 7 seconds until the Power LED blinks, then let it reboot and go to http://routerlogin.net (192.168.1.1) to set a fresh admin password.
