NETGEAR's own DGN2200 user manual states the modem router ships with the user name admin and password password and advises changing them. Genuine documented static default for this DSL gateway.
Factory reset
Open a browser to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://routerlogin.net) and log in with admin / password. To reset, hold the Restore Factory Settings button on the rear for about 7 seconds until the LEDs blink, then release; the login reverts to admin / password.
